Blog #3?!

Yes, I'm going to do ANOTHER blog.  3 blogs.  am I crazy?  I have a hard enough time with just this one, but here are my thoughts on this ...

  • its the new me.  I can will do it.
  • I can refer my Avon clients to my Avon blog.  This should will get me more online business.
  • I can refer my Home Staging/Redesign clients to my Design blog.  This also should will get me more business.
In my opinion, word of mouth is still the best advertisement out there, but I have to say, online availability is a very close second.  Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, on and on ... dare I say, "everybody's doing it!"
Understandably not everyone wants to read my personal ramblings, but if you do, wonderful.  I have some doosies for you coming up, but please join my other blogs so you can see what else I'm about.

In order of their "birth" ...
blog #1 My Learning Curve - where you are, in my day to day
blog #2 Your Avon Lady - Anything and Everything to do with Avon ... 5 posts already people!
blog #3 Renew the View - the beginning to my Home Staging/Redesign business ... just birthed this evening, but will begin asap!

Be excited, because I am excited.  whoo hoo!

ch-ch-changes

making some bloggy changes ... just because

something about the new year makes you want to
clean, organize, refocus, and change it up ... just me?

which would you rather have -
a change button?
or
an easy button?

... hhhhhmmmmmmmmm ...

good grief

does it bother you to have too many choices?

you go to the grocery store for 1 thing, and there you find an whole entire isle dedicated to that 1 product.  100 different manufacturers that claim to be the best, when really, they're all the same.  yet, I still have the hardest time choosing.  you?

in a department store you find thousands of shirts, and still you have to look at every single one before buying 1, right?  I do.  ugh.  what a chore.
I haven't shopped in a department store in {what seems like} forever, but same principle applies to thrift stores.  maybe even more so because you never know what you'll find there, so you want to make sure you everything.  its fun, but also a chore.

today I began a search to see what other designs there are for this lovely blog.  why?  no reason really ... but now I see that there are TONS of adorable designs out there.  and FREE too.  I'm definitely too cheap to pay someone to design a blog ... although, to you professionals bloggers out there, you're blogs look great.  I can totally see why you'd hire someone else!

  • I'm looking for something girly, but not too girly ... because that's not me.
  • something you don't have to squint to focus on when you come to my page.  that would be a turn off.
  • something not too busy.  that would just make it automatically ugly.
  • something simple, but pretty.
  • something different & original, but not crazily abstract.

I somehow feel like it will be one of those things that when I see it, I'll know it.  yes I know it can be changed, but ... oh, I don't know.  I don't want to hassle with it.  I know that if I don't love it, I'll end up changing it every 2 weeks or so ... and won't that be annoying for you?!
its like some kind of identity crisis.  hahahaha.  I guess this is my OCD side kicking in.

those of you that did not hire anyone, who use blogspot for you blog (or maybe that matter?), and want a cute blog, where do you "shop" for it?  help.

advertise something else please!!

Attention readers ... just an fyi
I DO NOT endorse the advertisments on my page.

does this need to be said?

those of you who know me, [hopefully] know that I do not, would not, and will not watch Skins on MTV. no. I was never much of a MTV follower even when it was cool. but I have to say, today it is so. not. cool. total trash. sorry to you who feel otherwise. I feel stupider (is that a word? or is it more stupid? see that? I don't know. how 'bout dumber?) and dirty, like I need a shower for watching. as far as I'm concerned, nothing good comes from MTV, not even the music anymore.
is this my old age talking? could I be an old fuddy-duddy now? maybe ... but that's not the point.

the other ad I saw was for HP. now first let me say, I'm no tech-y. I am only partial to Apple because I've had waaaaaaaaay fewer issues with it than any desktop/pc I've had. but I'm simple, I just want to turn it on and have it work ... is that so much to ask?!
my hubby's grandfather is one of the original staff members of HP from back when it started. He knew Hewlett & Packard; I can't remember his title now, but they all worked together at whatever executive level it was. anyway, my point is, even grandpa has an apple ... 2 in fact.
bye bye HP. you are not welcome in my home.

have you seen these ads?
chances are the ads will change to make me look crazy, I'm sure.

I thought Adsense was suppose to post things that have something to do with this blog ... to pull out the good & interesting things I write about and advertise that stuff. if you're interested in the nonsense I write, than you might actually click on the ad to find out the real facts. ha! but right?!
and if you do click, somehow I earn 1/2 a cent ... but it all adds up, so click away. I think I promised I wouldn't click, but does that mean I can't recruit you? that might be cheating, I'm not sure. maybe after this I'll get an email to tell me how I've violated the terms ... blah, blah, blah ... and then I will laugh. :)

so here's my plan ... I will now type random things Adsense can advertise about it. in theory it should work, right?

shoes, Hawaii, beaches, travel, coffee, school, design/decor, library/books, food, kids, parenting, Jesus, crafts, farming, hiking, camping, donations/charity, health & exercise, weather/rainbows, movies, music ...
start there and let me know when you need more ideas. thanks Adsense.

leaving christianity

can one really leave christianity?
I used to not think so, but I read this entertainment blog (which by the way, I NEVER do! I saw the title and it intrigued me.) and I thought she explained it just about perfectly.
Ann Rice fan? check it out.

I need a home

I love the idea of a blog, but I don't seem to be very good at it. since I seem to have a bit of a chaotic life, I have a difficult time keeping up with it in my own head, let alone here in blogland. I will try to get better, really I will ... I'm not even entirely sure who reads this anyway!

so do I play catch up? or just start from here?
here's the short of the long - we were in Maui for a month, then come to find out that Oahu is the best place to be for work, so here we are.
I got a new car (well, new to me car) that I love. it's a white VW Cabriolet convertible. its a chick car I realize, but I don't care, it's cute & fun! hubby was getting the motorcycle itch again (I figured it was coming back any day now) but this time, instead of a sport bike, he got an old man bike, a cruiser. with these 2 vehicles we only need 1 parking space, which is a really good thing for downtown Honolulu.

we're staying in a highrise condo vacation rental right now. it's ok. we're on the 35th floor, yikes! beautiful view of course, but I'm waaaaaay nervous about being on the lanai with the kids. we're in the process of finding a more permanent place, probably somewhere just outside downtown. our desire of having land and farming are on hold for awhile, which is a bummer because I was really looking forward to it.

... more Hawaii updates to come ...

blog cuteness

why is it so difficult to choose a blog template?!
I'm sure it's just me
there are so many cute ones!

so how is it reading white text?

this is taking me over an hour to do.
seriously.
I may have a problem.

if you are under a rock
(like I was)
check this out for your blog!

and then let me know how much time it took you :)
